Joyce Ann Smith Trogdon

Joyce Ann Smith Trogdon, age 88, of Asheboro passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2018 in Charlotte. Mrs. Trogdon was born on October 26, 1929 in Inman, SC to William Frank and Lona Gertrude Bryson Smith. She was retired from Acme McCrary Hosiery Mill after 20 years of service. In addition to her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Ray Louis Trogdon. She is survived by daughters, Janie Best (Martin) of Matthews, NC and Karen Boger (Calvin) of Clover, SC; grandchildren, Stephen Best (Brandy) of Indian Trail, NC, Beth Haynes (Travis) of Clover, SC, Emily Best of Stanley, NC; great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Luke, and Olivia Best all of Indian Trail, NC; sister, Becky Grooms of Thomasville, NC; brothers, Jack Smith (Patsy), and Wayne Smith all of Ennis, NC and William "Butch" Smith (Dee) of Martinsville, VA. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 24, 2018 from 10:00-10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will follow on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Todd Hinson officiating. Burial will be in Randolph Memorial Park. The family would like to give a special thanks to Brookdale SouthPark of Charlotte and Community Home Care & Hospice of Indian Trail, NC for the loving care given to Joyce.
