Joyce Callicutt Luther

Joyce Callicutt Luther, age 86, of Asheboro died Monday, October 28, 2013 at her home. Mrs. Luther was born May 31, 1927 in High Point to Erastus and Betty Callicutt. She was a woman of prayer and a spiritual anchor for her family, always gathering them together every night for prayer and Bible study. Mrs. Luther lived her faith and had a passion for teaching Sunday School at High Pine Wesleyan Church where she was a member. She was a homemaker who excelled at cooking and sewing but also enjoyed traveling. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Luther was preceded in death by her husband, Jefferson Davis Luther and her brother, Earl Callicutt. She is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Thomas Edwin & Sarah Raines Luther of Hamlet, NC; son and daughter-in-law, J. Arnold & Darlene Salter Luther of Randleman, NC; son: David Luther of Asheboro, NC; daughter & son-in-law, Rebecca & William Smith of Saluda, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Mark & Mischa Garrett Luther of Asheboro, NC; daughter & son-in-law, Deborah and William Moffitt, Jr. of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter and her husband, Jane & Larry French of York, SC; grandson and his wife, Tom & Kristin Luther of Horse Shoe, NC; granddaughter and her husband, Lora & Rev. Kyle Thompson of Waxhaw, NC; granddaughter and her husband, Karen & Jeremy Maness of Elon, NC; granddaughter and her husband, Maria and Ted Gordy of High Point, NC; granddaughter, Heather Smith of Columbia, SC; grandson, David Smith of Saluda, VA; granddaughter, Victoria Luther of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter, Caroline Luther of Asheboro, NC; grandson, Jason Davis Moffitt of Asheboro, NC; granddaughter, Lauren Moffitt of Asheboro, NC; great granddaughters, Brianna French of York, SC and Autumn Luther of Horse Shoe, NC; great grandsons, Luke and Nathan Thompson both of Waxhaw, NC; great grandson, Andrew Maness of Elon, NC; step great granddaughter, Taylor Gordy; brother, Wade Callicuttt of West Memphis, AR; sister, Virginia Leviner of Siler City, NC. The family will receive friends, Wednesday, October 30, 2013 from 6-8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 31, 2013 at 3:00 pm at High Pine Wesleyan Church, 4492 High Pine Church Rd., Asheboro with Rev. Todd Leach, Pastor Jonathan Shook and Rev.
