Joyce King Lemonds

Joyce King Lemonds of 735 William Ave., Asheboro passed away on Tuesday, June 15 at home after months of declining health. She was a gifted seamstress, wonderful cook, loving wife and mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, neighbors, and church family. Joyce was a charter member of Eastview Garden Club and active in the Asheboro/Randolph Garden Club Council. She was also a long standing, faithful member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Howard Lemonds; daughter, Vickie Lorimer and husband Curt of Asheboro; daughter, Sandy Lemonds of Asheboro; son, Hayworth Lemonds and wife Gwyn of Morenci, AZ. Grandchildren include Courtney (Mac) Kelly, Brittany (Jamie) Laxton, Nicolle Lemonds, Noelle Lemonds, Tripp Lemonds and Tyler Lemonds. Great grandchildren are Conner Kelly, Brody Laxton, Larson Kelly and Vera Lemonds. The family wishes to thank Hospice of Randolph County for their kind and welcome care and the many loving caregivers who helped with Joyce, especially Linda Martindale. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm at Oakhurst Baptist Church on Friday, June 18 with visitation following. Visitors are welcome at other times at the home.
