Joseph Walter Keye

Joseph Walter Keye, age 79, of Asheboro died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Universal Health Care of Ramseur. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 17, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Ron Hamilton officiating. Burial will be in the Giles Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mr. Keye was born in Surry County on July 14, 1931 to Ernest C. and Alma Marion Key. He loved being a truck driver and was retired after 36 years of service, the last 10 years being with Yellow Freight. He was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Dale Kennedy. Joe loved his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Taking care of his family and others was his main concern. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Millie B. Keye; son, Danny Keye and his wife Dolores of Asheboro, NC; 4 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; brother, Ernest Wayne Key of Asheboro, NC; half brothers, Mike Key of Asheboro, NC and Van Key of Randleman, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 16, 2010 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC and other times at the home of Danny Keye, 1908 Gold Hill Rd., Asheboro.
