Joseph Edd Hopkins

Joseph Edd Hopkins, age 81, of Randleman died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro. Mr. Hopkins was born April 3, 1934 the son of John and Easter Foley Hopkins. Joe was a native of Randolph County and served in the US Army. He attended Friendship Baptist Church in Level Cross and retired from Klaussner Furniture in Asheboro. In addition to his parents Joe is preceded in death by his son, Rickey Hopkins, grandson, Justin Hopkins, two sisters and two brothers. He is survived by his wife: Lucy Toomes Hopkins of the home; sons: Harold Hopkins and his wife Tina of Asheboro and Terry Hopkins and his wife Metzi of Troy; grandchildren, Brian Hopkins of Raleigh, Lindsay Bastedo and her husband John of Burlington, Timothy Hopkins and his wife Amber of Seagrove and Jonathan Hopkins of Troy; 3 great grandchildren; sister: Elvin Gregson of Rocky Mt., NC. The family will receive friends Friday, January 29, 2016 from 12:30-1:45 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm in the chapel with Rev. Rex Pollard officiating. Burial will be at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
