Jonah Edgar Wright

Jonah Edgar Wright, age 90, of Randleman died Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Randolph Hospice House.

Mr. Wright was born March 6, 1927 in Randolph County to Ira Cleveland and Mary Hancock Wright. He was a loving and giving man with a kind heart. Mr. Wright enjoyed going to the beach and to Atlantic City. He was very spry and liked to decorate his walking canes. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wright was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Sheffield Wright, four brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by his daughters, Sylvia King and husband Gary of Asheboro, Susan McDowell and husband Lynn of Asheboro, Sandra Davis and husband Joe of Asheboro, Sheila McGee and husband Bob of Ramseur, Teresa Tate of Randleman; 11 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; friend and caregiver, Larry Hayes; canine "babies" Baby Doll and Sugar Bear.

The family will receive friends Friday, December 22, 2017 from 12:30-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Isaac Fetterhoff officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Christian Church Cemetery, Asheboro.
