Johnsie Curry Kosinski, 84, of Riverside, California died June 28, 2008. Although she lived most of her adult life in California, she considered it "being at home" when visiting her sisters and brothers-in-law, the late Virginia and Joe Hardin, formerly of Asheboro, NC, and the late Xanie Ruth and Charlie Adams, formerly of Charlotte, NC. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at 11:00 am at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Barry Queen and Lay Speaker Peggy Woodruff officiating. Mrs. Kosinski was born March 6, 1924 in Forsyth County, NC. She graduated from Duke University with a BS in Nursing and held a Masters of Business Administration from St. Mary's University, Redlands, California. She worked for many years as a nurse in Orange County, California, before going into nursing supervision. She retired as Nursing Supervisor from Martin Luther Hospital in Anaheim, California. In addition to her sisters, Virginia Hardin and Xanie Ruth Adams, she was predeceased by her parents Rev. George L. and Georgia Anna Stowe Curry; step-mother, Ida Perryman Curry; sisters Jessie Golding and Margaret Winters, and former husband, Joseph Stanley Kosinski, Sr. Mrs. Kosinski is survived by son, Joseph Stanley Kosinski, Jr. of Hollister, California; daughter, Julie Virginia Kosinski of Norco, California; grandchildren Lara, Bryce and Lena Kosinski of Riverdale, IA, Sarah Kosinski and Natalie and Gabriel Kirkpatrick of Norco, CA; nieces and nephews Tal Hardin and Mary Hardin Isley both of Asheboro, NC, Georgianna H. McElhannon of Hartsville, SC, Bettie H. Wilson of Germanton, NC, June H. Surratt of Matthews, NC, C. C. (Chuck) Adams III of Monroe, NC, Xanie Kate Adams of Charlotte, NC, George Webb of St. Petersburg, FL and D. X. Russell of Anchorage, AK. The family will receive friends Thursday, July 10 from 10:00 until 10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society or to Central United Methodist Church Building Fund, 300 S. Main Street, Asheboro, NC 27203.
