Johnny Alexander Parsons, age 65, of Pekin Rd., Candor died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at FirstHealth Hospice Palliative Care, Pinehurst.
Johnny was born February 5, 1950 in Montgomery County, the son of Robert Eldridge and Pearl Dennis Parsons.
He was an active member of Prospect Baptist Church where he served on the cemetery committee for many years; he was a former employee of Capel, Inc. with 45 years of service. Johnny loved the outdoors and you could usually find him fishing at his favorite fishing holes.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two sisters, Elaine Vuncannon and Kathryn Loftin; four brothers: Robert, Garrett, Ralph and Jody.
He is survived by his wife of 34 years: Brenda Bowers Parsons of the home; two daughters: Trudy Luther of Asheboro and Doshia Swaringen of Aquadale; two sons: John Parsons of Star and Robbie Freeman of Washington state; one sister: Brenda P Sanders of Biscoe, two brothers: Toney Parsons of Denton and Douglas Parsons of Troy; 6 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Saturday, December 12, 2015 from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. A funeral service will be Sunday at 2:00 pm at Prospect Baptist Church, 2889 River Rd, Troy with Rev. Lee Fish and Rev. Toney Parsons officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
