Johnny Ray Knowles, Sr.

Johnny Ray Knowles,Sr. age 75, of Randleman died Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at his home. Mr. Knowles was a native of Duplin County and Vice President and Chief Operating Officer at Sapona, retiring after 35 years of service. Johnny was a caring man and devoted to his family and career, but family was the utmost important. He enjoyed playing golf when time allowed. He is preceded in death by his wife Dixie Jernigan Knowles; brothers Harry and Jasper Knowles; sister Jean Oxendine. He is survived by one son: Johnny Knowles, Jr. and his wife Regina of Winston- Salem; one daughter: Pamela Knowles of New Orleans, LA. And her husband Jimmy Pugh of GA.; grandchildren, Jeremy Pugh of New Orleans, LA.; Josh Pugh and his wife Mary of Bethlehem, GA; Kevin Gibson of Winston-Salem, Kristopher Delgado and his wife Benita of San Antonio, TX; Nicholas Delgado and his wife Leslie of San Antonio, TX; 8 great grandchildren; sisters: Zadie Cotten and her husband Marvin of Calypso, NC, Lucy Mozingo of Jackson, NC and Linda Graham of Goldsboro, NC; brothers: Ernest Knowles and his wife Evoughn of Sophia, and Robert Knowles of Mt. Olive, NC. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 12:30-1:45 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 in the chapel, with Rev. Jon Ferguson officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O.
