Johnny Paul "Junior" Needham, Jr., age 74, of Asheboro died Thursday, June 1, 2017.
Mr. Needham was born September 28, 1942 in Asheboro to Johnny and Lula Needham. He was a 1960 graduate of Asheboro High School. Mr. Needham owned and operated Junior's Body Shop on Hwy 42 in Asheboro for 16 years. Also, he was a former Auto Body instructor at Randolph Community College. He retired from Asheboro Body Shop. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, and riding his Harley. Mr. Needham loved Jesus and enjoyed witnessing to anyone he met. He never met a stranger.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 ½ years, Lavon Canoy Needham; daughter, Gena Parker and husband Adam of Asheboro; sons, Johnny Needham, III of Asheboro, Jason Needham and wife Jillian of Asheboro; seven grandchildren, Stephanie, Ella, and Eden Needham, Mackenzie Parker, Ethan, Evan, and Elijah Needham.
The family will receive friends Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 4, 2017 at 4:00 PM at Asbury Baptist Church, 395 Asbury Church Rd., Seagrove with Rev. Wayne Bryson and Rev. Josh Hughes officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
