John Thomas Williams

John Thomas Williams, age 87, of Asheboro died Tuesday, January 26, 2016 at Randolph Hospice House, Asheboro. Mr. Williams was born March 31, 1928 the son of James E. and Pattie Sue Smith Williams. Mr. Williams was a native of Lexington, NC and a graduate of Central High School of Charlotte, NC. He was a graduate of King's College in Bristol, TN and served his country as a 2nd Lieutenant in the Air Force. He worked for Lance Snack products in the Charlotte area and as purchasing agent for Stedman's in Asheboro for 20 years. He was also an executive director for Shaklee Distributing. He enjoyed movies, dining out and keeping his family close. John was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He was an animal lover and had a passion for rescuing animals, especially cats. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife: Amy Page Williams; two daughters: Page W. (Andy) Parris of Asheboro, NC; Troyann Williams of Greensboro, NC and one son: Tad (Brenda) Williams of Concord, NC; grandchildren:, Thomas (Jamie) Williams of Concord, NC; Carson Parris of Stokesdale, NC; Taylor Parris of Mint Hill, NC; and one great grandchild, Candace Williams. The funeral will be Friday, January 29, 2016 at 4:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Rev. Connie Weaver officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the funeral. A private burial will be held. Memorials may be made to Randolph SPCA, 160 N. Park St., Asheboro, NC 27203
