ASHEBORO:John Bay Potts, age 60, of 2391 Smyrna Grove Drive, Asheboro died Sunday, May 24, 2009 at his home.Mr. Potts was born December 16, 1948 in Mt. Airy, NC, the son of the late Charlie Frank Potts and the late Marie Tate Potts. He was formerly employed with Champagne Dye Works.He is survived by his wife: Bonnie Harmon Potts, one daughter: Kelly Marie Hicks of Asheboro, NC and one son: Michael John Potts of Greensboro, NC; six sisters: Brenda Welchel of Greensboro, NC, Shirley White of Greensboro, NC, Donna Potts of Greensboro, NC, Linda Maness of Rock Springs, GA, Alice Sellars of Greensboro, NC, and Terri Chrismon of Walkertown, NC; two brothers: Jonah Potts of Sophia, NC, and Larry Potts of Kernersville, NCStep daughter, Bonnie Watson of Raleigh, NC; step son, Johnny Barfield, Jr. of Asheboro, NC; step son, Matthew Barfield of Asheboro, NC; 10 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildrenThe family will receive friends Tuesday, May 26, 2009, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday May 27, 2009, at 11:00 AM at God's Outreach Ministries, 1828 Rayburn Street, Asheboro with Pastor Tim Poindexter officiating.Burial will be in the church cemetery.
