John William Gaster

John William Gaster, age 81, Randleman died Sunday, February 12, 2017 at Woodland Hill Care & Rehabilitation, Asheboro. Mr. Gaster was born October 13, 1935 the son of Vance and Mary Poole Gaster. John was a native of Randolph County and retired from Home Beneficial Life, AIG. He dedicated his life to his family and was a loving husband, father and friend. John enjoyed fishing, airplanes and trains and loved going to auction sales. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by wife Juanita Foster Gaster. He is survived by his son: J. W. Gaster (Lorrie) of Randleman; daughters: Mary Merrell of Randleman, Fay Spencer (Michael) of Randleman, Sue Henson (Jeff) of Randleman, and Gail McAden (W.H) of Randleman, NC; grandchildren: Karrie Beane, Chris Spencer, SSG. David Henson, Rebecca Jordan, Beth White, Tamra Dillow, Dustin Gaster, Joseph Cross and Dana Poindexter; 16 great grandchildren; sister: Nancy Hall of Asheboro. The family will receive friends Wednesday, February 15, 2017 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC and other times at the home of JW Gaster, 214 Holder St., Randleman. The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 16, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. Wade Craven officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro. A special Thank You to the staff of Woodland Hills for their care and kindness. Pugh Funeral Home, Randleman is serving the Gaster family.
