John David Garner

On Sunday, October 5, 2014 John David "JD" Garner, age 81, of Franklinville, NC went home to be with the Lord after several years of declining health. A native of Randolph County, Mr. Garner was of the Baptist faith and a Navy Veteran. He was formerly employed at Klopman Mills, then with Deep River Dye, and Myers Quality Machine. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. The family wishes to express their gratitude to Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home and to Hospice of Randolph. He is survived by his wife: Helen Cross Garner; daughter and her husband Vicki and Billy Poindexter of Franklinville, NC; grandson and his wife William David and Erika Poindexter of Chesterfield, VA; two brothers and their wives Homer and Sandra Garner of Asheboro, NC and Darrell and Clara Garner of Supply, NC. The family will receive friends Tuesday, October 7, 2014 from 1:30 to 3:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will follow 3:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will be in Whites Memorial Baptist Church Cemetery,Franklinville.
