John P. "Junior" Bailey, Jr.

John P. "Junior" Bailey, Jr., age 89, of Asheboro died Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at his home. Mr. Bailey was born in Randolph County on January 8, 1926 to John and Victoria Burrow Bailey. He was a member of Antioch Baptist Church and a Sunday School teacher for over 50 years. Junior was self-employed as a carpenter and built or helped build many houses in the Ulah Community. In addition to his parents, Junior was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Junior loved serving others and enjoyed building bird houses. He is survived by his wife, Lillian Williams Bailey; son, Danny Bailey of Asheboro; granddaughter, Nicole Bailey of Asheboro; grandson, Jeremy Bailey and wife LeeAnn of Asheboro; great granddaughter, Lilyana Bailey of Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Friday, August 21, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church, 148 Drum St., Asheboro with Pastor Jimmy Green and Rev. Lee Green officiating.
