FRANKLINVILLE--Michael Joseph "Joe" Callahan, age 61, of Franklinville died Saturday, April 6, 2013 at his home.
Joe was born in Ashland, KY on April 25, 1951 to Thomas Andrew and Vivian Opal Callahan.
Joe was employed as an electronic technician at Oliver Rubber in Asheboro for 27 years. He loved the outdoors and particularly enjoyed fishing, camping, and golfing. An avid reader, he loved to travel, garden and spend time with his grandchildren. Joe was preceded in death by his father.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Bonnie Redden Callahan; sons, Michael Callahan and his wife, Mindy; Chris Callahan and his wife, Jessie; Chad Campbell and his wife, Beth; 5 grandchildren; mother: Vivian Callahan; two brothers: Tom Callahan and his wife, Judy; Bob Callahan and his wife, Carol; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 9, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Jarvis of Colonial Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park.
