Joanne Ragsdale Anthony

Joanne Ragsdale Anthony, age 83, of Asheboro passed away on Friday, February 17, 2017 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mrs. Anthony was born in Asheboro on February 11, 1934 to Jacob and Etta Strickland Ragsdale. She was a member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, Joanne was preceded in death by her sisters, Lois R. Kearns and Jean R. Materi and brothers, Roy, Alvin, and Sherman Ragsdale. Joanne was a devoted mother and was known for her sense of humor and keen wit. She enjoyed baking pound cakes and fruit cakes for her family and friends. She is survived by her husband, David Anthony; son, Jeff Anthony of Asheboro; daughter, Kristina Beckwith and husband Clarke of Asheboro. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Oakhurst Baptist Church, 2225 South Fayetteville Street, Asheboro, NC 27205. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Anthony family.
