Joan Plimpton

Joan Plimpton of 2732 Old Stagecoach Rd., Asheboro was called home to her Lord and Savior on November 27, 2011 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. Joan was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, who often said her favorite hobby was taking care of her children and grandchildren. She was retired from the Hunterdon Developmental Center in Clinton, NJ where she worked for many years before moving to North Carolina 17 years ago. Joan was a member of Cedar Falls United Methodist Church and was preceded in death by her parents, Pasquale and Florence Huffman Caruso and her sister Patricia Bell all of New Jersey. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Robert "Bob" Plimpton, sons, Robert Plimpton, Jr and his wife Wanda of Alpha, NJ, John Plimpton and his wife Patti of Ramseur, Joe Plimpton and his wife Raquel of Asheboro; daughter, Terri Fisher of Asheboro; grandchildren, Amy, Joy, Kristen, Robert III, Heather and Joseph, Jr.; great grandchild, Hailey and her church family. A Memorial Service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials contributions be made to Cedar Falls United Methodist Church general fund, 1119 Loflin Pond Rd., Asheboro, NC 27203.
