Joan Henry Hooker

Joan Henry Hooker, age 76, of 826 Avondale Ave., Asheboro died Thursday, March 21, 2013 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 2:00 p.m. at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Edward J. Arroyo officiating. Burial will follow in Oaklawn Cemetery. Mrs. Hooker was born in Randolph County on October 9, 1936 to Wayne and Alene Jarrell Henry. She was retired from Energizer after 40 years of service and was a member of Central Carolina Community Church (C-4). In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her daughter Kimberly "Kim" Carol Hooker and her sister Martha Henry Moody. She is survived by her husband, Bobby E. Hooker; daughter, Beth Hooker of Asheboro; grandchildren, Brittany Salers and Mitch Salers both of Greensboro, Landon Hooker of Asheboro; and sister, Sandra Henry Combs of Fayetteville. The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 24, 2013 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
