Jo Anne Claxton Dalton

Jo Anne Claxton Dalton, age 79, of Asheboro, died Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her daughter and family's home in Greenville, SC.

Mrs. Dalton was born September 19, 1938, the daughter of the late Lewis Asbury and Daisy Belle Clark Claxton. Jo Anne was a long-time member of Oakhurst Baptist Church. She was a devoted Christian, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Jo Anne is preceded in death by her husband Robert Earl Dalton and sister Elaine Laird.

She is survived by daughter: Lisa Dalton Roper (Chuck) of Greenville, SC; son: Robbie Dalton (Amber) of Asheboro; grandchildren: Erin Roper, Charly Anne Roper, Sara Roper of Greenville, SC, Brooke Dalton (Taylor Trogdon, Jr.) fiancé, Caleb Dalton, Aly Dalton of Asheboro, and Krista Sheron (Corey Sheron) of Lynchburg, VA; Nephews; Dan Laird of Vancouver, WA and Mike Laird of Greenville, SC; and a loving cousin, Margaret Ballington of Katy, TX.

***Because of inclement weather the funeral has been rescheduled for Friday, January 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Dr. Richard Crider officiating. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery, Asheboro.
