Jimmy Garland Thompson

Jimmy Garland Thompson, age 79, formerly of Troy, of 1188 Tarry Church Road, Biscoe, died Friday, January 7, 2011 at First Health Moore Regional Hospital, Pinehurst. Mr. Thompson was born February 13, 1931 in Troy, NC the son of the late Marvin and the late Callie Sanders Thompson. He was a retired self employed logger and a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. He is survived by two sisters: Irene Wood and Louise Morris, both of Troy, NC; several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday from 6-8 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home. A graveside service with military honors provided by the Randolph County Honor Guard will be Sunday at 3:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery, Pleasant Grove Church Rd, Mt.
