Jimmy Lewis Boyd, age 72, of Asheboro passed away on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Randolph Hospice House.
Mr. Boyd was born and raised in the Giles Chapel Community and was a 1962 graduate of Gray's Chapel School. He was a member of Deep River Church of Christ of High Point. Jimmy was a former Construction Foreman for Piedmont Construction and a former Real Estate agent for Boyd Realty and Builders. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, Fred Lewis Boyd and Mary Hinshaw Boyd Henson, son Jimmy Lewis Boyd, Jr., brother William T. "Bill" Boyd, and step father James Henson. Jimmy was a man of great integrity and a friend to everyone he met.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Brenda Brazier Boyd; daughters, Tina VonCannon and husband Tyler and Terri Walker and husband Brian all of Asheboro; son, Michael Boyd of Burlington; grandchildren, Lauren VonCannon, Bailey VonCannon, Kelsey Walker, and Katie Walker all of Asheboro; stepmother, Violet Boyd of Greensboro; sister, Beth Meier of Merritt Island, FL; and brothers, Pat Boyd and wife Lisa of Nashville, TN and Lee Boyd and wife Cindy of Greensboro.
The Boyd family would like to express a special thanks to Fresenius Kidney Care of Asheboro for the years of loving care given to Jimmy.
The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor David Galloway officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memorial Park.
