Jimmie Lee Smith

Jimmie Lee Smith, age 73, of Asheboro died Monday, December 24, 2012 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. A private memorial service will be held. Mr. Smith was born in Greenville, SC on March 6, 1939 to Maynard and Nora Kinard Smith, who preceded him in death. He was retired from the U.S. Air Force after 28 years of service and then joined the Army Corps of Engineers for 18 years. Jimmie was a member of the Randolph County Honor Guard. He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Estridge Smith; daughter, Allison Smith Beard and her husband Mark of Woodbridge, VA; sister, Carolyn Smith of Detroit, MI; and brother, Jackie Smith of Greenville, SC. The family requests that memorials be made to the Randolph County Honor Guard, P.O. Box 1672, Asheboro, NC 27204. Pugh Funeral Home in Asheboro is serving the Smith family.
