Jimmie Jerome Auman

Jimmie Jerome Auman, age 82, of Asheboro died Friday, June 3, 2016 at his home. Mr. Auman was born April 8, 1934 in Moore County to Arcus and Edith Auman. He was retired from Eveready Battery and did small engine repair. Mr. Auman was an avid bowler and was a former member of the "Sleep Walkers League". He was also an avid NASCAR fan who raced at the Seagrove Drag Strip and loved attending the dirt track races at Caraway. He loved bluegrass music and was a sponsor and supporter of the family bluegrass bands. He was a proud member of the "Cliffhangers". In addition to his parents, Mr. Auman was preceded in death by his brother, Jack Auman. He is survived by his wife: Mae Caudill Auman, two daughters: Gwen Auman and husband Ron Baughman of Asheboro, Robin Auman Penninger and husband Charles of Mt. Pleasant; sons, Scott Auman and wife Vickie of Seagrove, Michael Auman and wife Karen of Irving, TX; grandchildren, Jessica Delacruz and fiancé John Bersuch, Leah Johnston and husband Dustin, Abby Auman and fiancé Todd Hunsucker, Matt Auman and wife Ashley, Lauren Auman and husband Michael Poole; 6 step grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren; sister, Betty Jean Auman Davis of Asheboro; brother, Stephen Gary Auman and wife Yvonne of Jena, LA. The family will receive friends Sunday, June 5, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A graveside service will be held Monday, June 6, 2016 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Memorial Gardens, 3448 New Hope Church Road, Asheboro with Rev. J. Harold Hammond officiating.
