Jim C. Gardner

James C. “Jim” Gardner, 88, of Sophia passed away Sunday, July 28, 2024 at Graybrier Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was born June 20, 1936 in Asheboro, NC to Leon Gardner and Pauline Lawson Gardner. 

Jim was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. He liked racing, had a passion for restoring cars, and loved his grandchildren. Jim was a faithful churchgoer and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church of Level Cross for 24 years. Among many things, he will be remembered as the man who could do all the things others could not. 

The family would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to the entire staff of Graybrier Nursing Facility for their excellent care and compassion over the last three years.

Jim is survived by his wife of 24 years, Carroll Gardner of the home; children, Destry Gardner (Donna), Anita Gardner, Cary Slack, Teresa Blanton (Shannon); grandsons, Brody, Casey, & Caden; great-granddaughter, Delilah. He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Pauline Gardner. 

The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 31, 2024 from 1:00 - 1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Brian Clark officiating. Interment will be held at New Hope Memorial Garden.
