Jewell Brady Cole, age 96, of 252 West St., Asheboro died Monday, April 18, 2011 at Randolph Hospital, Asheboro.
Mrs. Cole was a native of Randolph County, was formerly employed with Acme-McCrary Hosiery and was retired from Belk-Yates Department Store. She was a member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Blanche McGlohan Sunday School class, Circle #3, and former Sunday school teacher for the 3 year olds. Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Cole, brothers, Joe, F.D. and James Brady and sisters, Bernice and Betty Jean Brady.
She is survived by her daughter, Priscilla Cole of Asheboro; son, Rev. Phillip Cole and his wife Cheryl of Marion; grandchildren, Jennifer Belk of Charlotte, Julie Belk of Seattle, WA; great grandchild, Olivia Belk of Charlotte; brother, Billy Brady and his wife Helen of Newport News, VA; sisters, Ruth Nance and her husband Don of Asheboro, Elaine Smith of Asheboro, Sandy Brady of Asheboro.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Holder and Rev. Susan Mitchell officiating. Mrs. Cole's Sunday school class and members of Circle #3 will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Burial will follow at Oaklawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, April 19, 2011 from 6 to 8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
