Jewel Henley, age 92, of Asheboro died Saturday, October 25, 2008 at her home.
Mrs. Henley was the daughter of the late Walter Hadley and the late Lily Blonde (Warner) Craven.
Mrs. Henley was a native of Richmond County and a member of First Baptist Church in Asheboro. She was co-owner of C.W. Henley Appliance and T.V. and operated the Asheboro License Plate Agency for 30 years. She was preceded in death by her husband C.W. "Deal" Henley, sons Bill Henley and Walter Henley and sister,Mary Johnson.
She is survived by one son: C W Henley, Jr. of Clearwater, FL ; four daughters: Alice Beane of Greensboro, NC, Lois Rich of Greensboro, NC, Rebecca Smith of the home and Lovely Daughter, Martha Jane Henley of the home; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; one brother: Edward Craven and seven sisters: Eula Brown, Hazel Petty, Alma Ligon, Faye McIntosh, Grace Robinson, Carol Friz, Betsy Brewer.
Graveside services will be held 2 pm Monday, October 27, 2008 at Oaklawn Cemetery in Asheboro with Chaplain Tim Pheagin officiating.
