Jessie Bernice Lassiter Shaw, age 88, of 528 Hickory Street, Troy died Friday, October 4, 2013 at Autumn Care Nursing & Rehabilitation, Biscoe. Jessie was born August 6, 1925 at Troy, NC the daughter of Oscar and Eula Pern Cranford Lassiter. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Troy and a former employee at Better Burger. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William (Speck) Shaw. Jessie is survived by one daughter: Beverly S Ledbetter of Troy; one son: Stan Shaw and wife, Leslie of Mt Gilead; one brother: Bob Lassiter of Arlington, VA; 5 grandchildren: Terry Shaw of Mt. Gilead, Angela (Roger) Holt of Florida, Kenneth (Sandy) Blake of Troy, Tami LaBrack of Troy, John Ledbetter, IV of Troy; 6 great-grandchildren: Justin Hardy, Cody Shaw, Brianna Shaw, Josh Blake, Carson Blake, William Blake; son-in-law: John Ed Ledbetter, III of Troy Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 3 PM at First Baptist Church, 401 E. Main St., Troy with Dr. Phillips McRae officiating; other times at the home. The family will receive friends in the church sanctuary one hour prior to the service.
