Jessie Blanche Redding Cox, age 99, of Asheboro died Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at the Hospice Home of Alamance in Burlington. The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 30, 2013 from 10:00-10:45 am at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A graveside service will follow on Saturday at 11:00 am at the St. Paul Church Cemetery in Randleman with Dr. Terry L. Matthews officiating. Mrs. Cox was born in Randolph County on November 16, 1914 to O.C. and Flora Hunt Redding. She was retired from Randolph Hospital. Jessie was a member of Central United Methodist Church, where she was the past Sunday School Superintendent of the Kindergarten department. She was a member and past president of the VFW Auxiliary Post 905 in Asheboro and was a former den mother with the Cub Scouts. In addition to her parents, Jessie was preceded in death by an infant son, her husband Paul Kritz Cox, and her sister T. Lucille Lovell. She is survived by her son, Louis Kritz Cox and his wife Jo Ann of Burlington; granddaughter, Suzanne Smith and her husband Jon, great grandson, Grady S. Smith all of Franklinton; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Joe R. and Clara Cox of Asheboro; and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Central United Methodist Church, 300 South Main Street, Asheboro, NC 27203 or the Hospice Home of Alamance, 918 Chapel Hill Rd., Burlington, NC 27215
