Jessie Way Boone, age 95, of 723 Spencer Ave., Asheboro died Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Larry Johnson, Rev. A. J. Kendrick, and Rev. Mark Beane officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery.Mrs. Boone was a native of Sanford, a member of Central Wesleyan Church and was retired from Burlington Industries after 30+ years of service. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Glenn Way and Paul Boone, daughter, Mildred Way Stutts and granddaughter, Sharon Way Stutts. Mrs. Boone loved music, gardening and traveling.She is survived by her sons, Larry Way and his wife Elaine of Ramseur, Dean Way and his wife Ann of Little River, SC; daughters, Dorothy Way Stutts of Asheboro, Carolyn "Bobbie" Hancock and her husband Gene of Asheboro; step-daughter, Kateria Boone of Greensboro; sister, Madge Caviness Poole of Winston-Salem; half-sisters, Lois Kinney, Juanita Hall and Louise Parks all of Asheboro; grandchildren, Vickie Wright, Greg, Gary and Keith Hancock; 8 great grandchildren.The family will receive friends Friday, May 15, 2009 from 6-8 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The family wishes to express their appreciation to the staff of Clapp's Nursing Home for their gentle care and kindness shown to our mother over the past few months, particularly Vickie Wright and Dr. John Cameron.
