Jerry Lee Blake, age 66, formerly of 182 Poole Road, Troy, NC, died Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Bethany Woods Nursing & Rehab Center, Albemarle. Jerry was born January 20, 1947 at Troy, NC the son of Mildredge H and Minnie Sedberry Blake. Prior to his stay at Bethany Woods, Jerry was a faithful member of Tabernacle Baptist Church of Troy where he served on the Deacon Board, member of the adult choir, Sunday School Secretary and various committees. For many years he was employed by Montgomery Dairy and later worked at Gay-Lar Hosiery as a supervisor. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Russell Blake. Jerry is survived by one daughter: Kristy Blake Buchman and husband, Anthony of Troy; one son: Chad L Blake of Clayton; one brother, Richard Blake of Troy and one grandson, Davin Buchman. The family will receive friends Thursday, February 28, 2013 from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 N. Main St., Troy; other times at 182 Poole Road, Troy. Funeral services will be Friday, March 1, 2013 at 11:00 am at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 412 Bell Street, Troy with Pastor Tony Hancox officiating. Burial will follow in Southside Cemetery, South Main Street, Troy. Memorials may be directed to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central NC Chapter, 2211 W.
