Jerry Jeffers, 88, of Asheboro passed away peacefully on May 17, 2024, at the Randolph Hospice House following a brief illness.
Jerry was born on April 5, 1936, to Nate and Claire Huey Jeffers. He served our country in the United States Air Force for more than 20 years, retiring as Master Sergeant in 1976. Jerry’s lifelong passion was aviation. His career in aviation began during his time in the military and spanned some 60 years in total. His primary occupation was Avionics Technician, having owned his own shop at one time. He piloted the annual Fly Over for the Field of Honor and served on the Board of Directors at the North Carolina Aviation Museum & Hall of Fame in Asheboro.
Jerry is survived by his daughter, Lynn Luke (Christopher) of Apex, his granddaughter, Kaleigh Beddingfield, and his love of 25 years, Becky Cooper of Asheboro.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents.
The family will hold a private memorial service in Jerry’s honor at a later date.
