Jerry Wayne Davis, age 70, of Asheboro died Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Davis was born May 11, 1949 in Moore County to Shelton and Pauline Davis. He was retired from the Department of Transportation and worked at Gold Hill Mulch following his retirement. Jerry loved NASCAR and his dump truck, Jerry Davis Hauling. He attended Cross Road Baptist Church. Jerry was a simple man who loved his family and was always available to help them whenever they needed him. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice Brazier Davis; daughter, Julie Davis Brittingham and husband Pastor Roger Brittingham of Wilmington; grandchildren, Allison Faith Rottluff and husband Amir Rottluff of Virginia Beach, VA, Rachel Elizabeth Brittingham of Wilmington; sister, Deeann Nichols of Durham. The family will receive friends Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 1:00 - 3:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. Funeral services will follow at 3:00 PM in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Justin Curry officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Memorial Gardens.
