Jerome Thomas Yow

Jerome Thomas Yow, age 90, of Asheboro died Friday, July 19, 2013 at Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. Mr. Yow was born in Seagrove on November 24, 1922 to Hugh Burley and Cora Belle McNeill Yow. Jerome served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was self-employed as a farmer and sawmiller. In addition to his parents, Jerome was preceded in death by his son Jimmy Yow. He is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Jones and her husband Jeff of Asheboro, Rebecca Underwood and her husband Danny of Greensboro, Joyce Overman and her husband Wendell of Seagrove; sons, Dwight Yow and his wife Lorraine of Seagrove, Doug Yow and his wife Patty of Seagrove; 29 grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren; and sister, Betty Jo Hodges of Asheboro. The family wishes to express a special thanks to the staff of Clapp's Convalescent Nursing Home for the compassion and loving care given to Jerome.
