Jennie Kearns Cooke

Jennie Kearns Cooke, age 66, of 516 Wallace Ave., Apt14 B, Troy died Sunday, July 20, 2014 at her home. Jennie was born December 17, 1947 at Mt. Gilead, NC, the daughter J.P. Kearns and Pauline Russell Kearns. She was a former employee of Russell Harvelle Hosiery Mill. Jennie was a loving mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her grandson, Brandon Simmons, one great-grandchild, Amberlyn Renee Mullis; her son-in-law, Jimmy Ratliff, a brother, Deloyd Russell and wife, Edna. She is survived by two daughters: Tammy Simmons husband, Ernest of Troy, Renee Cooke Ratliff of Peachland; two grandchildren: Harley and Hailey Ratliff; her siblings: J. P. Kearns, Jr. and wife, Nancy of Midland, Mildred K. Dunn and husband, Roger of Star and Charlie Kearns and wife, Faye of Wadeville. The family will receive friends Tuesday, July 22, 2014 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Pugh-Troy Funeral Home, 211 North Main Street, Troy; other times at the home of Tammy and Ernest Simmons, 3864 Love Joy Rd., Troy. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2:00 pm at Callicutt Chapel Wesleyan Church, 1100 Horseshoe Bend Rd., Troy with Rev. Doug Beadle officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
