Jefferson Dale, "Jeff" Simmons, age 65, of Randleman died Tuesday, March 8, 2016 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Greensboro.
Mr. Simmons was born August 20, 1950 the son of Reuben Gray (R.G) and Nettie Jean Shepherd Simmons.
Jeff worked for Coca-Cola in Biscoe, Sealtest in Asheboro and retired from Merita Bread of Asheboro and Greensboro. He was a member of Sophia Baptist Church where he was an usher and belonged to the Good News Sunday School Class. Jeff was an avid fisherman and was well known for his vegetable canning especially his Kraut. In addition to his parents Jeff is preceded in death by his sisters, Ginger Morgan and Julie Shepherd.
He is survived by his wife: Maria Sibbett Simmons of the home; son: Rodney Lemonds of Troy; daughters: Rhonda Miller (Joe) of Salisbury, Sonja Davis (Philip) of Randleman, and Valerie McCain (Mark)of Randleman; grandchildren, Dylan Lemonds, Cambridge Davis, Austin Davis, Jocelyn Miller, Tristan Miller, Lauren McCain, Claire McCain and Brooke McCain; sisters: Mary Haywood (Ray) of Candor and Karen Sibbett (Duane) of Randleman; brother: Michael Simmons of Biscoe.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 9, 2016 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral service will be held Thursday, March 10, 2016 at 11:00 am at Sophia Baptist Church, 4082 Millikan Rd., Sophia with Rev. Bill Barnes officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
