Janice Lee Moffit Tolbert, age 75, of Mount Gilead, NC died on Friday, November 2, 2018 at Randolph Hospice House.
She was retired from the Randolph County School System after 25 years of service.
Janice was a member of the Asbury Baptist Church. She was the most loving and caring person you could ever meet. She had a great sense of humor and would do anything to help others. Most of all, she loved her family. She always had a smile even during her courageous fight with Stage 4 Pancreatic Cancer. I held her hand for 47 years, now the Lord is holding it. She was truly the last rose of summer.
She was proceeded in death by her son, Michael Tolbert, brothers Jack, Rex, Royce, Bill and Max Moffitt and her sisters, Dot Craven and Rose Auman. She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Tommy Reece Tolbert, son Jason Lee Tolbert and wife Adrienne of Asheboro; her grandson, Reece Tolbert of Asheboro; sister, Elda King of Asheboro; nieces, Jo Beth Shaw, Jessica Devers, Angie Keese, Beth Casey, Sharon Suggs, Susan Halo and Melynda Wilson; nephews Jay Moffitt, David Craven, Reid Craven, Ricky Craven, Allen Moffitt, Steve Moffitt, Randy Moffitt, Scott Moffitt, Chris King and Brandon King.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 12:30-1:30 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Sunday at 2:00 pm in the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Wayne Bryson and Rev. Howard Moffitt officiating. Burial will be held in Oaklawn Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.
