Janey Lassiter Moffitt

Janey Lassiter "Goose" Moffitt, age 75, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, February 27, 2017 at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill. Mrs. Moffitt was born in Asheboro on April 1, 1941. Her parents were Harold Lassiter and Myrtis Luck Lassiter. She was retired from Bost Neckwear after 30 years of service and was of the Baptist faith. In addition to her parents, Janey was preceded in death by her husband, Max Moffitt. Janey's grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was a friendly lady and was always helping others. She always put her family first and was very supportive of them. Janey loved the beach and shopping. She is survived by her sons, Randy Moffitt and wife Cathy of Asheboro and Scott Moffitt and significant other Jennifer Davidson of Asheboro; grandchildren, Sergeant First Class Dustin Moffitt of Ft. Bliss, TX, Kayla Moffitt of Thomasville, Kameron Moffitt of Advance; great grandchildren, Andrew Moffitt and Ledger Marlowe; brothers, Bill Lassiter and wife Sheila of Asheboro and Bobby Lassiter of Asheboro; and sister, Darlene Clarkson of Peachland, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 2, 2017 from 12:30-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro. A memorial service will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Howard Moffitt officiating. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, P.O.
