Annie Jane Slack, age 91, of 106 Mt. Vista Road, Denton died Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Thomasville Medical Center, Thomasville.
Mrs. Slack was born March 8, 1920 the daughter of Raleigh and Debbie McKenzie.
Jane was a native of Randolph County and in 1982 retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill. She was a longtime member of Midway Wesleyan Church where she played the piano for many years. She enjoyed her family, her church and cooking, especially pound cakes. She is preceded in death by her husband: Howard Bradford "Brad" Slack.
She is survived by one daughter: Mary Varner of Denton, NC; son and his wife: Howard and Jan Slack of Colorado Springs, CO; grandson and his wife: Jon and Amy Slack of Littleton, CO; granddaughter and her husband: Kathy and Jim Younger of Falcon, CO; granddaughter and her husband: Michelle and Rodney Whitaker of Denton, NC; grandson: Bryan Kennedy of Denton, NC; granddaughter and her husband: Jana and Todd Allmon of Asheboro, NC; great grandchildren: Abriana, Zachary, Devin, Connor, and Haley; brother and his wife: Tommy and Wilma McKenzie of Asheboro, NC; brother: Reece McKenzie of Randleman, NC; and special extended family, Mark, Melissa, Caitlyn and Jacob Ellison of McLeansville, NC.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 27, 2011 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at 1:00 PM at Midway Wesleyan Church, 331 Worthville Rd., Randleman with Rev. J. Arnold Luther officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
