Jane Ashburn King, age 81, of Asheboro passed away on Monday, March 12, 2018 at her home.
Mrs. King was born in Pine Hall, NC on December 1, 1936 to A.L. Ashburn, Jr. and Ruby Carter Ashburn. She was a graduate of Reynolds High School in Winston-Salem. Jane was a member of Seagrove United Methodist Church. Jane was the former president of Seagrove Lumber Sales, Inc. She was the founder of the Camp Caraway Rug School and Past Director of the southeastern workshop with National Guild of Pearl K. McGowan Rug Hookrafters, Inc. In addition to her parents, Jane was preceded in death by her son, Joseph Lee Redwine, her first husband, Phillip Owen Redwine, and second husband, Vernon E. King, Sr.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Owen Redwine (Sherry) of Asheboro, Vernon E. King, Jr. (Beverly) of Seagrove, and David Aster King of Asheboro; grandchildren, Victoria Satterfield (Shannon) of Asheboro, Tracy Turner (Josh) of Liberty, Trey King of Raleigh, Sloane King of Jamestown, Caroline Reed King of Raleigh, and Mary Ashburn King of Raleigh; great grandchildren, Aaron Redwine, Zachery, Joey, and Elijah Satterfield, and Alex and Taylor Turner; sister, JoAnn Marsh of Greensboro; brother, A.L. Ashburn III of New London; and Tibet, her loving and loyal companion.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 4:00 pm at Camp Caraway, 4756 Caraway Mountain Road in Asheboro.
