James Artis Weatherly

James Artis Weatherly, age 59, of Liberty died Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Randolph Hospice House. Mr. Weatherly was born in Ft. Bragg, NC and had lived all over the world. James was formerly employed with the Belews Creek Power Plant and was preceded in death by his father Artis F. Weatherly. James enjoyed panning for gold, motorcycles, drag racing (Rally & Funny Car), and wrestling. He loved gardening and growing flowers with his wife Crystal. He is survived by his wife, Crystal Cooper Weatherly; daughter, Devon Leann Weatherly of Liberty; stepdaughter, Tela Faith Mauldin Dixon of Randleman; mother and stepfather, Mildred Weatherly Cooper and Hubert Cooper of Asheboro; sisters, Cynthia McPherson and Cheryl Wright both of Asheboro; and brother, Allen Weatherly of Greensboro. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at 4:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro with Pastor Mark Hurt officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
