James Darrell Tedder, age 73, of Asheboro passed away on Sunday, December 29, 2019 at his home.
Mr. Tedder was born in Randolph County on September 18, 1946 to Raymond and Conie Bray Tedder, who preceded him in death. Darrell served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as a Surveyor with the NC Department of Transportation with over 30 years of service. Darrell was strong-willed and a perfectionist. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He loved to take care of his gardens, woodworking, being outside, and spending time with family.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Rebecca Kiser Tedder; children, Dwight Tedder (Melissa) of Asheboro, Crystal Echard (Patrick) of Mechanicsville, VA, Daniel Tedder (Lindsay) of Whitsett, and Danielle Fisher (Matt) of Randleman; grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Jayce, Carson, Gavin, Avery, Sidney, and Isabella; sisters, Phyllis Lawson, Peggy Cox (Phil), and Faye Byrd (Billy); and his cat, Boo, and dog, Mac.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 2, 2020 from 12:00-1:45 pm at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 2:00 pm at the Pugh Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Edward J. Arroyo officiating. Burial will be held in New Hope Memorial Gardens with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
