James Edward Shields

James Edward Shields, age 86, died Sunday, December 27, 2009. Mr. Shields was born July 27, 1923, the son of Orville Edward and Mary Collins Shields of Riverside, Rockbridge County, Virginia. Mr. Shields was a resident of Asheboro, NC and was a retired Sheet Metal Designer. He was a member of All Souls Anglican Church. He is preceded in death by his wife Mary Inez Tolley Shields on May 9, 2005. He is survived by two daughters, Melinda Brown of Randleman, NC, Elizabeth Shields of Lexington, VA and four sons, Jim Shields of Liberty, NC, Robert Shields of Liberty, NC, David Shields of Liberty, NC, John Shields of Colonial Heights, VA; and 6 grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, The Rev. Canon Wallace C. Shields of Lexington, VA. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 16, 2010 at 11:00 AM at All Souls Anglican Church, 2898 Old Cox Rd., Asheboro with The Rev. Canon R. Larry Emerson, Vicar and The Rev.
