James Vernon Parker, age 69, of Randleman died Thursday, November 15, 2012 at Clapps Convalescent Nursing Home, Asheboro.
Mr. Parker was born August 25, 1943 the son of Jesse and Ovleen Parker. Mr. Parker was a native of Randolph County and a member of Bible Holiness Church in Randleman. James retired from Commonwealth Hosiery with 44 years of service. He loved to travel to the mountains and spend time there. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his wife, Debbie Parker.
He is survived by two daughters: Loretta P Yonce and her husband Jerry of Randleman and Glenda Parker of Randleman; step-sons, Charles Scarborough and his wife Shannon of Ramseur and Kenneth Maness of Pleasant Garden; sister: Ruby Strayhorn and her husband Ronald of Asheboro; 2 grandchildren; 2 step-grandchildren; best friend Jim Swaim of Asheboro.
The family will receive friends Sunday, November 18, 2012 from 6 to 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be held Monday, November 19, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Pugh Funeral Home Chapel, 600 South Main Street, Randleman with Rev. C. Michael Stumbo officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
