James Edward King, age 76, of Asheboro died Friday evening, August 28, 2015 at Randolph Health & Rehabilitation in Asheboro. Mr. King was born May 7, 1939 in Asheboro the son of James Fred and Maggie Luettie Lucas King.
Mr. King was a native of Randolph County and a member of New Hope United Methodist Church in Asheboro. James was a retired food salesman with one of his former employers being Thomas Brothers Country Ham in Asheboro.
He is survived by his brother: Paul Junior King and his wife Lucy of Asheboro; nephews: Dwayne King of Myrtle Beach, SC and Brian King of Mars Hill; great nephews: Jessie and Jacob King both of Mars Hill and great niece, Cheyenne King of Mars Hill.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue in Asheboro and other times at the home of his brother and his wife Paul and Lucy King, 1599 Nottingham Street in Asheboro. The funeral will be held on Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 11:00 AM at New Hope United Methodist Church, 4215 New Hope Church Road in Asheboro with Pastor Clay Showalter and Rev. Arnold Ray Comer officiating. Burial will be in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery.
