James Webster Hamilton, age 70, of 2467 Northmont Dr., Asheboro died Friday, August 22, 2008 at Wesley Long Community Hospital in Greensboro.
Mr. Hamilton was born November 4, 1937 in Troy, NC, the son of the late Arthur Wade and the late Hattie (Saunders) Hamilton and was a graduate of Troy High School in 1957. He was the co-owner of Randolph Acoustical and Drywall, Inc. in Asheboro, attended Rushwood Park Wesleyan Church, and was a retired member of the Montgomery County Rescue Squad. Outside of the love for his family, he loved sports which included the Boston Red Sox, the Atlanta Braves, the Tarheels, and skeet shooting. He was also preceeded in death by his sisters, Dinah Thomas, Martha Hamilton, and Lorraine Stutts.
He is survived by his wife: Virgie Henderson Hamilton of the home; Daughter and her husband, Renee And Terry Britt of Troy, NC; Son: Jeff Hamilton of Raleigh, NC; Son and his wife: Andy and Tracy Hamilton of Troy, NC; Son and his wife, Chad and Jill Thomas of Asheboro, NC; Grandchildren, Kristen and Hunter Hamilton, Erynn and Tanner Britt, and Gavin and Emerson Thomas; Sisters: Frances Russell of Troy, NC and Myrtle Maness of Star, NC; Brother: Vernon Hamilton of Troy, NC
The family will receive friends Sunday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC. The funeral will be held Monday at 11:00 A.M. at First Wesleyan Church in Troy with Dr. Ron Hamilton and Rev. Ed Lindsey officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
