James Grady Griffin

Randleman - James "Jimmy" Grady Griffin, age 72, of Randleman died Thursday, September 11, 2014 at his home. Mr. Griffin was born September 20, 1941 the son of James Grady and Neva Cooper Griffin, Jr. Mr. Griffin was a native of Randolph County and a veteran of the US Army. Jimmy was a member of Friendly Baptist Church in Climax and formerly employed as a subcontractor in the construction business. He enjoyed music and playing his guitar. In addition to his parents, Jimmy was preceded in death by his son: James G. Griffin, III and sister: Barbara Griffin Wood. He is survived by his wife: Sylvia Broadwell Griffin; son: Dale Griffin of Asheboro, stepsons: Wayne Toomes, Ronald Toomes and Marty (Gina) Toomes all of Level Cross; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; three brothers: Darrell (Elaine) Griffin of Randleman, NC, David Griffin of FL, Grady Griffin of MD; two sisters: Ruth Ann (Harold) Griffin Wood of Sophia, NC and Anita Cohn of Fayetteville; and his special canine companion: Willie. The family will receive friends Saturday, September 13, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 South Main Street, Randleman, NC. The funeral will be Sunday, September 14, 2014 at 2:00 PM at Friendly Baptist Church, 8102 NC 22, Climax, NC with Rev. Richard Hedgecock officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park, Asheboro.
