James Robert Fox, age 92, of 3481 NC Hwy 42 South, Asheboro and formerly of Randleman died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at the Randolph Hospice House.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 18, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Union Grove Christian Church, 3985 Old NC Hwy 13, Asheboro with Rev. Garry L. Reeder and Rev. Adrian Pugh officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military honors by the Randolph County Honor Guard.
Mr. Fox was a native of Siler City, NC, served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and was retired from Laughlin Hosiery Mill in Randleman. He was a former member of First United Methodist Church in Randleman and was currently a member of Union Grove Christian Church. James coached softball and baseball in Randleman and Level Cross for many years and was an avid fox hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Marion Matthews Fox; daughters, Bobbie Fox Kerns and her husband Gene of Asheboro, NC, Sandra Fox Cagle and her husband J.W. of Asheboro, NC; grandsons, Craig E. Kerns of Randleman, NC, Robbie Quin Kerns of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Cary Justin Kerns and his wife Brandi of Supply, NC; granddaughters, Christianna McGee and her husband Archie of Ramseur, NC, Alisa Lee and her husband Danny of Asheboro, NC; great grandchildren, James Kerns of Ocean Isle Beach, NC, Isabella Kerns of Supply, NC, Mattie McGee of Ramseur, NC, Bryson Lee of Asheboro, NC, Salem Lee of Asheboro, NC; and sister, Mary Joyce Fox Harris of Randleman, NC.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, November 17, 2011 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
