James Michael Cox

James Michael Cox, age 49, of 4633 Boggs Trail, Liberty died Saturday, August 2, 2008 at Hospice Home at High Point. Mr. Cox was a native of Randolph County and was a substance abuse counselor for over 15 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and sports, but his passion was helping others. Through his good deeds, he touched the lives of many and always lived by his belief that serving others also helped himself. He was preceded in death by his father, James Preston Cox. He is survived by mother and step father Carol Hurely Efird and Walter Efird of Asheboro, sisters, Candy Weiss of Pinehurst, NC, and Beth Poage of Trinity, NC; sister and her husband, Nancy Griffin and Hampton McNeil of Kernersville, NC; brother and his wife, Brad And Lesia Cox of Denton, NC; niece, Katie Raines; niece, Emily Taylor; niece, Chantel Weiss; niece, Jennifer Brooke Voncannon; niece, Kelly Hale; Nephew, Brian Weiss; Nephew, Scott Weiss; Nephew, Kevin Poage; Nephew, Brett Cox; and special friend, Vada Bullard The family will receive friends Monday, August 4, 2008 from 6 - 8 PM at Pugh Funeral Home, 437 Sunset Avenue, Asheboro, NC.
