April 18, 2017 James Branson Burroughs, 73, of 2100 Garren Town Road, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital. He was born on January 4, 1944 in Randolph County, the son of Arthur and Eula Burroughs, and had lived in this area all of his life. He started Burroughs Plumbing in 1980. Plumbing was a trade that he had learned early in life, and he was one of the most well know plumber's in Asheboro and Randolph County. He took great pride in his work and doing the right thing for people. When he was not working, he enjoyed traveling and taking cruises, and spending time with his wife at his place at Sunset Beach. He was a faithful member of Forest Park Baptist Church and placed his faith in the Lord Jesus up until the very end. He was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Janie Burroughs Chriscoe.
On September 7, 2001, he married the former Judy Needham Barrett, who survives of the home. Also surviving are his sons, Jamie Burroughs and wife Connie of Asheboro and Johnny Burroughs, of Winston-Salem; one granddaughter, Kayla Burroughs, and one step granddaughter Bridget Boger, 2 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Forest Park Baptist Church of Randleman with Rev. Joel M. McDuffie Jr., officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Friday evening from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Pugh Funeral home, 437 Sunset Ave., Asheboro, NC.
